"Hawkers Cove"

11 weeks on from her operation and here's Mindy having fun on the beach at Hawkers Cove, just thought I'd lighten the tone after my last little post!!!
Playing ball with her is not so scary but chasing the birds across the beach and into the sea still is...

Ian gets wet feet!

We love this beach, even though this is where Buzz jumped off the cliff top on New years eve 2009, down a 20-30 ft drop, onto the sand (makes me cringe just thinking about it) The walk is lovely, you have a field to walk down through which come summer turns into a car park, but is locked in the winter, then you walk down a path to the sea, the tide was in this morning...great as Mindy doesn't have to spend it on the lead, she loves chasing the birds, but I worry as she will swim out after them, but as the tide was in, not too many on the shore line......

Sennen loved it as you can see, picking up the seaweed, crabs, wood, actually anything she can pick up as she runs along.....

We walked back along the dunes, to dry them off...

But we still ended up washing the Smalls, Buzzy, as he ended up with a "Sea" bum and Sennen, just because she likes playing in the water!

There is a small river stream that runs down to the seas and often it turns into a small pond, at the bottom, which they can stroll through on the way back up to the car, Sennen was really funny and stomps in the water so she can catch the splashes, shame I wasn't quick enough to get it on film..........

Swimming dogs.......

What a lovely evening we had last night, two hours spent down at Hawkers Cove, all the dogs went swimming, Mindy loved it, she did have to spend some time on the long line as those "Pesky" seagulls kept tempting her to chase them.......

Ian almost went swimming too, but when it got to his belly he chickened out, he got further than ME though!

Buzz drying off, doing his favourite thing rubbing his butt and back on the floor, he has a "bush" that he goes in to rub it in (if that makes sense) when we don't want to rub it for him, it's so funny to watch as the whole bush moves around...hope there aren't any birds nesting in it.

...and then this evening we went

To the beach.

As you can see Mindy looks great, hooray and I ran her over small small height jumps (8) yesterday and she looked great, so may be tomorrow I will raise the jumps and do one set of weaves and if she stays sound then she can come with Harry and I to the show on Saturday!

I did splash out and buy a "Back on Track" mesh coat to fit them both and she has been wearing this for 4/5 days, it's been a struggle as she hates wearing coats and is a right madam wearing anything! but we can keep it on for 4-5 hours each day, I cant see her wearing it over night though.......

As to whether it works or not, well I know I felt weired when she sat on my lap with it on, but I do react to the Bio flow bracelets like that too!

I did get Harry to wear it too, he only managed an hour the first time and got quite distressed by wearing it, I thought he wouldn't mind, as he loves being "Snug as a bug" I know some people cant wear the Bio flow for long periods of time, so I increased from 1 hour up 4 over 4/5 days and that's the stage we are at for him.

Mindy looks a bit odd in this photo as she is actually lying down on the sofa and I'm taking the photo from the top of the sofa looking down at her! oh and the coat is rather large for her....

In case any of you do invest in one, go smaller than your normal size coat as they are rather generous!...I bought it from Ann at CSJ, follow the link on my links bit that says CSJ....Toni and Beep Bother

I've been tagged!

Thanks Charlotte.

So here it is!
It's Buzz on Holiday in Cornwall - of course.

He was 4 years old here, having just been in the sea swimming with Ian, and I'd say he has a little water in his left ear! it's funny how all the dogs will swim if we are in the water with them, but just paddle along the shore line if that is what we are doing, don't get me wrong Buzz paddling is equivalent to Red, Mindy and Harry swimming, they will go out and get the ball, well Buzz does, he brings it half way back and Red takes it from him, then drops it a little bit further and Harry collects it!

So now I have to tag others and as there is only one of my list of "Bloggers" that hasn't been tagged I will Tag them and hopefully that will kick them into action in updating their blog!!!!
I wonder if it will work?

So Lisa at Perranfell, or rather Lisa "down on the dunes" - you've been tagged. http://perranfell.blogspot.com/

Power Fab! - video

After far too many weeks and being let down by a certain person, who shall remain nameless for the time being ***** we where getting brave, having bought a LandRover on eBay over a year ago. Anyway we had wanted a digger to help around the place: foundations to dig for the sheds and extension, landscaping the garden etc. Too much like hard work with a shovel! – well we are getting older!!!!! Anyway we located one that wasn’t too far away, I say not too far away Ian wouldn’t have gone that far for a dog show! But for a digger well that is a different story! So he returned Friday night after 8 hours of driving! (4 each way) with this rusty orange and green thing! It was green from having being sat under a tree somewhere on a farm, it works and after a wash it is no longer looks green, it needs a silencer or ear plugs and away you go, Ian says I can have a go on it tomorrow, after the tractor seat has dried off hummmm.

This week I have spent lots of time in the garden, as Elaine says, the garden will take as much as you want to throw at it! She’s right. The vegetable patch is coming on, the beans and spinach are in, I have put the corn on the cob down behind one of the wooden sheds along with some of the sun flowers! I love sunflowers they are such happy flowers and the birds like the seeds. It looks like most of Anna plants that she kindly donated are happy and starting to pick up. Note to myself - Must get some tomatoes.

Agility wise – Harry did a somersault on Friday galloping around a corner, so he is now soar. Red has been lame on and off since last September, she has seem the chiropractor on various occasions and she seems to be great for a few days after and then goes backwards again, some days you cant tell which leg it is, once she has warmed up, she is fine. I think the time has come to get her ex-rayed and see if there is anything going on, or whether it is just old age setting in, she has never been a dog to go easy at anything, everything always gets done at 100 miles an hour, she has never looked after her body, collided with a number of tyres and jumps! Bless her. Buzz is sound thou!

Sunday, we went for a long walk at Hawkers Cove, it was misty/foggy but warm and calm, the dogs loved it, hopefully the video will show that – if I can download it!
