........AAADD

AAADD
KNOW THE SYMPTOMS?…….PLEASE READ!

Thank goodness there’s a name for this disorder.
Somehow I feel better even though I have it!!

Recently I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D
Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests:

I decide to water the garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway.
I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.

As I start towards the garage,
I notice mail on the porch table that
I brought up from the mailbox earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the table,
Put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table,
And notice the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back
On the table and take the garbage out first.

But then I think
Since I’m going near the mailbox
I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my cheque book off the table,
And see that there is only one cheque left,
My extra cheques are in the my desk in the study,
So I go inside the house to my desk where
I find the can of Pepsi I’d been drinking.

I’m going to look for my cheques,
But first I need to push the Pepsi aside
So that I don’t accidently knock it over.

The Pepsi is getting warm,
And I decide to put it in the fridge to keep it cold.

As I head towards the kitchen with the Pepsi,
A vase of flowers on the counter
Catches my eye-they need water.

I put the Pepsi on the counter and
Discover my reading glasses that
I’d been searching for all morning.

I decide I better put them back on my desk,
But first I’m going to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter,
Fill the container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I’ll be looking for the remote,
But I won’t remember that it’s on the kitchen table,
So I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs
But first I’ll water the flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers
But quite a bit spills on the floor.

So, I set the remote back on the table,
Get some towels and wipe up the spill,
Then, I head down the hall trying to remember
What I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:

The car isn’t washed
The bills aren’t paid
There is warm can of Pepsi sitting on the counter
The flowers don’t have any water,
There is still only one cheque in my cheque book,
I can’t find the remote,
I can’t find my glasses,
And I don’t remember what I did with the car keys,
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,
I’m really baffled because I know I was busy all day,
And I’m really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem,
And I’ll try to get some help for it,
But first I’ll check my e-mail………

Don’t laugh – if this isn’t you yet, your day is coming!!!

...Old Lady Diddles "Red" at Thames

video

Great courses, I loved Lee's the second one, you could tell people weren't sure about it as there was no QUE! and people where hanging around....just watching and learning! ha ha we loved it!

....and if I hadn't paniced that Red was going into one of two tunnel entrances facing her as she went up the seesaw, I cant believe I actually called her, when she was already up the seesaw, stupid girl (Me) HA HA, it was great to run and I want another go.

...Shame about the handler! ........we where still having fun though and I get to buy another pair of shorts and a new "T" shirt!

I'm really proud of Red and what we've both have achieved over the years together, she took me from Elementary to Advanced before she was 4 years old, and her wins weren't all down here in Cornwall either, she certainly isn't an easy dog to run, give her an inch and she'll still go in the wrong end of the tunnel or up the "A" frame. But boy when we get it right! I have to admit some of our best runs that I can remember, have been great cracking "E's", but wow!
What a great dog to have learnt the great world of agility with.

Thank you RED.

Harry won another 5-7 agility at the weekend, so I don't mind now that he is a Grade 6.
No video's as Ian stayed at home and watched the motor racing.

Mindy goes from strength to strength and is coping working in different places now, we still struggle with our "Go on's" when she gets nervous you can see her start to watch me more. I need to do some more video work to see what I'm doing wrong with her airplanes/snakes as we struggle doing the last jump, but apart from that, she's great! She just wants to work and play with me, what more could I ask for?

I can't believe it's Thursday already and it's almost July............. where does it go?

We bought a Roof box to go on the Berlingo, it was meant to make life easier for me to go camping, on my own, so I didn't have to struggle to strap everything down on the roof........Well I can unlock it and sort of open it, but the hinges are on the side further away from the opening, even with a little step I can't reach them to lock them in the "Up" position, another job for Ian to try and work out! .........may be some string to pull the hinge up....why do I leave it all to the last minute?

......Thames FUN!

videoLoads to report on from Thames show, it was great to see everyone and watch some class acts, Ian was a star he did all the grooming and videoing, so Thanks Ian.

It certainly helped for Harry, as it kept him cool and out of the way of the ques.

We learnt such a lot together, or I did. From now on, I have to run Harry like I would "Red" and if he is slower I will have time to make it up as I go along.
I need to choose the route that would make him run the faster and enjoy running with me, so for example rather than "pussy footing"! around and doing a front cross/blind turn, in front of a dog walk, I should charge down the side I was on and either do one the other end or cross behind the next piece of equipment, depending on what and where the course goes from there, you can clearly see when I cross behind the weaves in one of the agility rounds that Ian video, he puts in an extra step (fumbles) therefore looses time, so if I had ran down on his right with him and crossed behind on the next jump, it would have made that turn tighter too!

Thank goodness for Ian videoing.

PS. Sorry Neil, Harry says "you where too good to miss out on!!!!"

...Meet new arrival Berty!

....Well Berty the Berlingo has landed in Cornwall and no I don't usually name cars, but he was called that by his previous owner and as we have named the Rotivator "Roger" and the weather vane "Sam"

Will this stick, I'm not sure ?

.....So Ian has been busy altering and painting the cages to fit from the Bongo to Berty, these cages have been in the Scudo, the Bongo and now in Berty! I'm so lucky to be married to a top class welder.

Ian has finished them just in time for Thames, so at least I can keep Harry contained and not stealing and eating my sandwiches! Poor chap I bought a really tiny cage to put him in at the last show, I did feel mean, but at least he couldn't escape!

Agility wise.

Well Harry worked his socks off this weekend, stayed in the ring, was wild and I haven't a clue how I got him around the course, as I had walked it for a slower dog and not for him, although I had run it with Red previously so I should have known - mind you Red and I where e'd on the same course, I sent her in the tunnel a few extra times. Anyway Harry won the class 5-7 agility, so now he is a G6, see this is where I think this system is wrong, I still feel you should have two wins at least to move up not just one agility, although Harry did deserve to win it on enthusiasm!
On a tricky course. But I don't make the rules and I did voice my opinion at the time.
After running Red and Harry over the same agility course, it was Buzzy's turn, well what can I say, I have the bruises from that one, he took me out, he saw the tunnel and I was in the way (not that he should of been heading for the tunnel!) I did mange to stay upright, but by the time I had walked out the ring the brusing and swelling had started, so I had others to run my dogs for the rest of the day and I scrimed!

Aly ran Buzz (she wanted too!) she did really well, it's those long running legs, they do look good together!

Gail Skinner ran Red and wow what a round they put in together and do you know what if Gail had managed to put in that blind turn they would, I'm sure have been in the top three places. Gail has never run Red before and there is only one other person that can pick her up, set her up and Red not even turn one glancing look behind to see where I am and then run a near perfect run every time and that was Bethany List her junior handler. well done Gail it was a pleasure to watch.

...I didn't let anyone run Harry although He had plenty of offers! I told them they can have a go at training first, but as I have only just managed to keep him in the ring 4 times this year, I wasn't going to let that happen at a show, with someone else.

....and just because!

...Harry and his Sausages a Christmas present from Poppy.

...and one more of Buzzy Bear.

....Buzz get's the all clear!

Buzz had his hips x-rayed and his cruciate ligaments pulled around, as he had been going lame after long walks and as the vet tried checking his cruciate when we went to see her, there was no way Buzz would let her get that close, she managed to lift his leg, but as some of you will know when you lift a back leg on Buzz he leans all his weight on you and would fall over rather than hold it up for you - he has always been like that and no amount of back end awareness has helped him there!

She said he had fantastic hips, but has lost some muscle on that side, so suggests we go back to the chiropractor and see if they can help him.

I really love this Vet, I am able to stay with the dogs whilst they are knocked out and I'm there when they wake up too. This time Buzz went to sleep really quickly the last time we ended up there for ages before he went under enough, he seemed to recover quicker too.
Bless him.

...Here's a picture of Red hiding in the grass!
Well almost.
